Sliced Coconut : It's Sliced, Not Broken

Beginnings

I have not prepared for my own birth or evaluated the consequences of my first steps. Nor have I pondered over what my first word should be and whether I shoud like carrots or not.

Those were all things that just happened when they did.

We (well, I) often stress too much about beginnings. Too often do we brood over the how tos and the not to dos. We plan, draft and postpone. We imagine and construct, but one thing we don’t. We don’t just begin right then when we think about it.

Beginnings are not hard, endings are. And that’s what we are afraid of. To acknowledge the end of a seemingly good idea or to admit the limits of our actual excitement for something. But the scariest of all is to see the end of a dream because it becomes reality.

I like carrots, btw.
