Sliced Coconut : It's Sliced, Not Broken

Average

When no one earns more than average, then no one earns less either.
Quite a socialistic statement, isn’t it?

A fact of human nature is that everyone wants to earn more than everyone else, or at least more than the average.

And everyone has other areas where they also want to be better than average.
And it’s incredibly easy to achieve.

The average person doesn’t try hard doing anything. Just trying a little instantly makes you better than average.
Take playing chess for example. The only number I found is from 2003. So let’s go with it. In 2003 there were 39 Mio people in the US who played chess. So it is safe to say that today – I don’t think I missed a major chess boom recently – there will still only be a minority of chess players in the US. This means the average person doesn’t play chess at all. So to be far better than the average person you just need to play chess once a year.

But then again, the majority of drivers think they are driving better than average…
