Sliced Coconut : It's Sliced, Not Broken

Thoughts are louder than shrimp

So yes, I wanted to write about shrimp. And then I realized there has already been said so much about shrimp:

“Anyway, like I was sayin’, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey’s uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that’s about it.” – Bubba in Forrest Gump

So much more is there say? Sure, I didn’t want to write about ways to eat shrimp, but more about a special type of shrimp.

The snapping shrimp (1-2 inch) is one of the loudest animals on earth. They snap their claws and while doing so create a plasma of 4700 degrees Celsius or 8492 Fahrenheit.

I would have totally written all that. I mean a shrimp is tiny, underwater and absolutely not supposed to make any sound at all.

But then I heard this voice in my head. “Don’t write about shrimp. Yesterday you wrote about banana peel. Today about shrimp.Where should this end?”

I don’t know. The voice is loud and I am out of coffee (and shrimp).
